For the majority of the first 13 years of my son’s life, I worked 50-60 hour work weeks with an hour long commute each way. Come home from work, get dinner on the table, and get him out the door for baseball practice or his school concerts.

It. was. exhausting.

Trying to find this so called “balance” of providing for my family, actually spending time with my family, and taking care of myself enough to not have a breakdown.

Then about 3 years ago, I was fortunate to find a job closer to home. Still working long days but with a 10 minute drive home instead of an hour and 10 minutes. Life had settled down a bit and I began dating my boyfriend

….who has 3 children with his ex-wife.

….and then we got pregnant.


One child and a housekeeper away from being the Brady Bunch.

It was around that same time that I discovered direct sales and how much I loved having something just for me. Something that gave me a purpose other than being “mom” or just an employee.

I’ve learned the hard way that there is no such thing as “balance” in the story of my life….just over here doing my best to navigate motherhood while running a business.
